Full Product Description
These professional-grade steel extraction hoods are purpose-built for controlling dust and debris during demanding concrete, masonry, and stone cutting applications. Manufactured from robust steel and finished with a high-quality black powder coating, they deliver exceptional durability and resistance to jobsite wear, corrosion, and impact damage. The hoods are designed to work seamlessly with existing angle grinder dust shrouds or protection guards, fastening securely with threaded knurled knobs for a quick, tool-free installation that ensures a stable fit during operation.
The open “Aero” design is engineered for maximum cutting efficiency, allowing active blade cooling, full visual control of the cutting zone, and optimal dust removal even when paired with low-power dust-extracting vacuums. By directing dust and debris into the integrated exhaust outlet, these hoods help maintain a cleaner, safer working environment, improving operator comfort and reducing airborne particle exposure.
While their primary purpose is dust control for concrete, stone, and masonry work, the hoods can also be used for normal steel cutting, provided they are paired with a vacuum system specifically rated for spark extraction. This ensures safe operation while still benefiting from debris collection during occasional metalwork tasks.
Key Features & Benefits
- Heavy-duty steel construction with black powder coating for long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance.
- Specialised for concrete, masonry, and stone cutting with highly effective dust and debris extraction.
- Open “Aero” design for active blade cooling, clear cutting zone visibility, and compatibility with low-power vacuums.
- Secure, quick fastening using threaded knurled knobs for a stable fit to existing grinder guards without additional tools.
- Multiple disc compatibility, models available for 115 mm, 125 mm, and 230 mm discs.
- Cleaner, safer work environments by reducing airborne dust and debris in indoor or confined spaces.
- Optional steel cutting capability when paired with a spark-rated vacuum extraction system.
- Lightweight handling without compromising strength, ensuring operator comfort during extended use.
Operate only with dust, debris, or sparks directed into the hood’s exhaust outlet toward the connected vacuum. Use exclusively for concrete, masonry, and stone cutting. When cutting steel, disconnect the vacuum unless it is specifically rated for spark extraction. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye, hearing, and respiratory protection. Ensure the hood is securely fastened to the grinder’s guard before operation. Prior to use, confirm compatibility with your angle grinder and vacuum system, and inspect for damage or wear. Do not use if components are loose, damaged, or excessively worn.
Application Area
Designed for use in professional and DIY cutting tasks involving concrete, masonry, and stone, including:
- Cutting concrete slabs, blocks, and pavers.
- Chasing channels for electrical wiring, water supply, and plumbing installations (Product 3 – AirCHASER model).
- Cutting bricks, marble, granite, and ceramic tiles.
- Dust-controlled indoor or workshop cutting to reduce airborne particles.
- Optional use for normal steel cutting when paired with a spark-rated vacuum extraction system.
Suitable for both corded and cordless angle grinders with compatible disc sizes (115 mm, 125 mm, and 230 mm, depending on the extractor model).
Assembly Instructions (Corded and Cordless Angle Grinders)
Preparation
- Switch off and disconnect the grinder from the power source (unplug corded models or remove the battery from cordless models).
- Allow the grinder and disc to cool completely before handling.
- Remove any attachments or accessories that may obstruct installation.
- Inspect the extraction hood, fastening knobs, and your grinder’s guard for damage or excessive wear.
Positioning the Hood
- Align the extraction hood with the grinder’s existing dust shroud or protection guard so that the exhaust outlet faces toward your vacuum connection.
- Ensure the hood is positioned for the intended cutting direction, with the open side allowing clear visibility of the cutting zone.
Securing the Hood
- Place the hood over the grinder’s guard, ensuring it sits flush and stable.
- Tighten the threaded knurled knobs evenly until the hood is firmly secured to the guard.
- Avoid overtightening to prevent damage to the guard or hood.
Connecting the Vacuum
- Attach the vacuum hose to the hood’s exhaust outlet.
- Check that the hose fits securely and will not loosen during operation.
- For steel cutting, only connect a spark-rated vacuum; otherwise, keep the vacuum disconnected.
Final Checks
- Manually rotate the disc to confirm there is no contact with the hood.
- Ensure all knobs are tight and the hood is stable.
- Reconnect power (plug in corded models or insert battery in cordless models) only after all assembly steps are complete.
- Test vacuum operation before starting the grinder.
